INSOURCING OF FUNDS: A Corporate Blueprint for Waking the Giant of Africa

Image
"Insourcing of funds" is a term that refers to the strategic plans, activities, and pathways that culminate in the increase, multiplication, and sustained growth of an economy. Crucially, it relies entirely on internal factors and local assets, without a total dependence on external aid. Looking at the Nigeria of today, our sole dependence on crude oil has led to unthinkable hardships among the masses. What is the way out, particularly in this current economic era? This is the exact reason why people like me want to look inwards. Some might support borrowing money from institutions like the World Bank to drive the economy. While that is not a inherently bad idea, it inevitably leads to a heavier debt burden, which further worsens our economic situation. This is why I am preaching the insourcing of funds. I will not elaborate on every single detail here, but I want to briefly describe the concept. Consider the 36 states in Nigeria, which almost entirely depend on the Federal G...

8 PHILOSOPHIES GONE WRONG

Image
  1. " WHATEVER WILL BE, WILL BE " ```Whatever will be will not be; you have to make it be. You have a part to play in what will be in your life, so don't leave it to chance.``` 2. " HALF BREAD IS BETTER THAN NONE! " ```Why settle for half bread when you can get  a full bread or even own a bakery. This is a limiting belief that positions you to settle for less and it is a mediocre philosophy.``` 3. " A FOOL AT FORTY IS A FOOL FOREVER " ```A fool at any age can be a fool forever if he refuses to let go of his foolishness. It is never too late to become wise because the day you wake up and wise up is the day you CHANGE!``` 4. " ALL FINGERS ARE NOT EQUAL " ```Yes! Physical fingers in your hands are not equal but that does not make any of them valueless financially, and you realise that they are all valuable. You are not even a finger, so why look down on yourself.``` 5. " LIFE BEGINS AT FORTY " ```If you are below forty and believe thi...

WHY THEY WERE NOT ADMITTED

Image
Introduction Admission into Nigerian tertiary educational institutions has in recent times become a game of chance, this is because, many students apply, but few are chosen. This year again, many students will fail to secure admission into universities, polytechnics, colleges of education among others. I do not want you to be part of this group of candidates. I want you to smile at the end of the day, that your JAMB registration was not just used to plant flowers at Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB)’s office complexes. If you must be admitted this year therefore, you need to know why many candidates, just like you, who sit for UTME every year fail to secure admission. In the just concluded 2017 admission year, it was gathered that about 1.7 million candidates registered for UTME, jostling for few spaces available for admission in all our tertiary institutions. Commenting on this figure, the National Universities Commission (NUC) stated that, of this figure, only 30...

The Ponmo Palava; My 2014 Thread on Nairaland

Image
It is a well noised news recently in the Nigerian media that 'ponmo' (cow's skin) has no nutritional value. As nutritionists, we know whether this is true or false, but as scientists we ought to give you guys physical proofs, this time, not the usual textbook stuff, but practical findings. So, keep your fingers crossed, as I feed you guys with information on the proximate analysis of the nutrient composition of 'ponmo'. Stay connected. Result: WhiteTyre : The results from recent analysis is as follows: For a 40g mass of ponmo, there are 0g of carbohydrate, 0g of protein, 0% of iron, 0% of sodium, 4g of total fat, 0g of dietary fibre, no vitamin, no calcium. So, scientifically, the only nutient in ponmo is fat, 'bad' fat, mostly. It will also give you some carcinogenic agents, due to it's mode of preparation. Therefore, ponmo consumption is only tasty, not nutritious. Stop eating ponmo.  Eaters of ponmo may as well eat shoes. Next month, God willing, I ...

UTME 2025: HOW TO SCORE ABOVE 300

Image
Are you a student aspiring to write JAMB's UTME 2025, for the first time, after so many trials. I have good news for you as your days of disappointment are over. You can score 300 and above, without sweat, without examination malpractice, without being an exceptional genius. The thing is, you don't actually need to be too intelligent to score high in UTME. The reason why many fail or perform below their expectation is because of lack of information. You don't need to score less than 250 anymore. In fact, scoring 300, 340, etc, is no longer a big deal, if you follow the strategies I will be prescribing in this post. 1.  Set out for a HIGH SCORE . Give yourself a great task to accomplish. Don't aim at scoring 200 or merely 'two-something' as people usually say. Be determined to score 300 or 'three-something' as I do encourage people. If you can score 180, you can as well score 280 or more in JAMB. 2.  Pray and Be Determined to Do the Right Thing . I want ...

Before Matriculation

Image
I am writing this message to all 2021 UTME candidates and 2020 applicants waiting for admission. This article is about what you should be engaged in before matriculation. Every year, I have noticed the following trend. Jambites usually waste a lot of time, during their waiting period. Some just merely think about admission, some add preparation for PUTME, while some just do not know what do with their time.  It is worthy of note that the following happens to JAMBITES every year. 1. Many candidates eventually do not gain admission. This has happened to me before. 2. Many gain admission and do not eventually get to resume because of lack of money for school fees. This has also happened to me. 3. Some have the money to begin schooling, but along the line risk dropping out of school, owing to declining financial status of their sponsors or their demise. 4. While to so many, schooling and survival is good throughout for them. To every student, there is a chance that you experienc...

Why KILL Yourself Over SCHOOL?

Image
Seriously, it can be depressing when a student fails an exam he had so much attached his success in life to. Let me tell you the truth. Education, nowadays, especially in Nigeria, is not a means of becoming comfortable or wealthy in life. Many people of meaning today know this for a fact. Come to think of it. You battle with WAEC for 3 years, battle JAMB for another 4 years. You battle university education or polytechnic education for 5 years. You were 16 when you finished high school, remember? Add up all the years. You graduate at 27. You go for NYSC at 28, only to be advised there, during camp, to learn shoe making or bead making, photography or furniture making. After how many years! You looked for job at 29, and finally nearly got a job at 32. You were told during interview that the job is for people less than 25 as a graduate trainee, or people not more than 28, with 4 years experience. Gentlemen and ladies, this is the reality. Is it this scam that you want to die over? After lo...
